Withdrawal Policy

At Multidisciplinary Surgical Research Annals, we understand that circumstances may arise where authors may need to withdraw their submitted manuscripts from consideration. To ensure transparency and fairness, we have established the following withdrawal policy:

  1. Author Responsibility: Authors are responsible for informing the editorial office promptly if they wish to withdraw their manuscript from consideration. This communication must be made in writing via email and include the manuscript title, manuscript ID (if available), and the reason for withdrawal.
  2. Withdrawal Requests: Withdrawal requests will be considered by the editorial office upon receipt. Authors should provide a clear and valid reason for the withdrawal of their manuscript.
  3. Withdrawal Approval: The editorial office will review the withdrawal request and determine its approval based on the reason provided and the stage of the manuscript in the review process.
  4. Stage of Manuscript Review:

Pre-review: If a manuscript is withdrawn before undergoing peer review, the withdrawal process will be straightforward, and the manuscript will be removed from our system upon author request.

Under Review: If a manuscript is already under review by reviewers or editors, the withdrawal request will be evaluated based on the review stage and the impact on the review process.

Accepted Manuscripts: Once a manuscript has been accepted for publication, withdrawal requests will generally not be granted unless under exceptional circumstances.

  1. Publication Charges: If a manuscript has been accepted and is in the publication process, withdrawal requests may still be considered; however, authors may still be responsible for any applicable publication charges incurred up to the point of withdrawal.
  2. Retraction: In cases where a manuscript has been published and subsequent issues arise that warrant retraction, the journal will adhere to the guidelines outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) for retracting published articles.
  3. Communication: The editorial office will communicate the decision regarding the withdrawal request to the corresponding author promptly. If approved, the manuscript will be officially withdrawn from consideration for publication.
  4. Re-submission: Authors who have withdrawn their manuscripts may be welcome to re-submit their work for consideration in the future, subject to the journal’s submission guidelines and editorial policies.
